Passion counts when it gets tough!!! ….Continuation

Yesterday i wrote about passion in business, why its very important to be passionate about what you are doing. This helps you when things gets tough.

This reminds me of Steve Jobs after he got fired from apple, a company he founded. This was a very tough moment in Steve’s life, all his sweat and handwork was gone. Steve Jobs went on to found NeXT, a computer platform development company for the higher ed and business markets. He did not sit around and complain but he took a bold step and started another company. He was passionate about what he does so he moved on and continued doing his best.

In 1996, as Apple struggled to deliver its next operating system, Gil Amelio, the new Apple CEO, decided to leverage the NeXT platform as the foundation for the Mac OS X. This opened the door for Jobs to return to Apple, first as an advisor and then as interim CEO. He ultimately resumed his title of CEO and proceeded to bring the company back from the brink of bankruptcy to profitability.

What just happened, Steve bounced back to where he belonged. Others thought Steve was done but that was just the beginning of the great Steve Jobs that we know. His passion and dedication to business and to make this world a better place saw him rise again and become the face of apple.

The lesson i am trying to drive here is that, tough times are coming in your business, and when they come what are you going to do. Are you going to sit around and complain? OR Are you going to ignore the negative voices and move on. Your strength can never be seen if you do not pass through such challenges. I can tell you that Steve jobs was much respected and appreciated at Apple when he came back than before he left, because of his passion and dedication in changing the world. As a business person try by all means to separate yourself from negative people, they are poison to your business growth, cut them loose.
